“Date of assessment: 30 July and 7 August 2025.”

“Anahita Recovery Centre is a care home that provides supported accommodation for up to 34 to people who have mental health needs. At the time of the inspection 30 people were using the service. The inspection was prompted in part by notification of an incident following which a person using the service suffered injury. This inspection did not examine the circumstances of the incident. However, the information shared with CQC about the incident indicated potential concerns about the management of risk. This inspection examined those risks. The last rating for this service was good (13 April 2019).”

“We spoke with the registered manager, deputy manager and 7 staff members. We also spoke with 1 relative; 3 visiting health care professionals and 7 other professionals contacted us by email to offer feedback about the service. These professionals included doctors, consultants, nurses and pharmacists. We looked at 11 people’s care plans and risk assessments and other records relating to the management of the service. We found that record keeping at the service required improvement. The registered manager was taking action to address these concerns.”

“We found risks to people had been assessed to ensure their needs were safely met. Robust recruitment checks had taken place before staff started working at the service. There were enough staff to support people and meet their needs. People had access to health care professionals when they needed them, and they received their medicines when needed. There were systems in place to help prevent and control infections.Staff were trained in areas specifically related to people’s care needs and they received regular supervision from their managers. People’s diverse needs and wishes were assessed, documented and respected. People were supported to manage their health and wellbeing to maximise their independence. There was a complaints procedure in place in formats that people could understand.”

“The registered manager and staff worked in partnership with health and social care providers to deliver an effective service. There were systems in place to monitor the quality and safety of the service, and any learning was identified and acted on. People opinions about the service were considered through surveys, meetings and spot checks. Staff told us they received good support from the management team.”
