We are delighted to offer a fantastic new opportunity for people with a learning disability or other complex needs to enjoy respite support in the holiday village of Minehead in Somerset.

Woodside is a respite/holiday home for people with learning disabilities or other complex needs set in the beautiful seaside town of Minehead.

Woodside is set in a quiet residential area on the outskirts of Minehead, about 10 minutes walk from the town centre and 15 minutes from the beach. The walk from Woodside is through a quiet park which starts directly outside the home.

Woodside is a large, spacious seven bedroom home set in large gardens. It benefits from three different outside areas, all of which are kept private with large trees and bushes surrounding. We offer activities outside, including arts and crafts, gardening and games. Other activities can be provided on request, where possible.

The seven large bedrooms all have en-suite facilities and lovely views of the home’s grounds and the hills surrounding Minehead. One downstairs bedroom is wheelchair accessible and is fitted with a ceiling hoist which can access the whole room. A second downstairs bedroom is to be completed in the future.

All guests receive 24 hour shared support from trained and experienced staff who are friendly and committed to meeting the needs of the guests. There is also a vehicle available for transport to local attractions and activities.

All guests will have an assessment completed prior to staying at the home to ensure that their wishes and needs are met when the visit. Guests can stay visit for the day or have an overnight stay prior to booking for a longer period. Support can be provided at short notice and in emergencies.

Minehead is a small seaside town in West Somerset, 45 minutes from the M5, junction 25 at Taunton. Minehead is set in beautiful scenery which has plenty to offer. There are lots of local walks in the surrounding hills, woods and beaches.

For visitors interested in getting out and about there are a variety of activities to do, including horse riding, fishing and the local steam railway with trips daily. Minehead has a lovely beach with relaxing seafront walks where you can get fish and chips and an icecream! Also in Minehead is the Butlins venue which offers a large range of activities and caters for all abilities and interests.
