Specialises in: Learning disability
At Aykroyd Lodge we provide care and support to six individuals with a learning disability and mobility needs.
The service is located in a residential area of Burnley, within walking distance of local facilities and a short bus ride from the town centre.
Each person's privacy, rights, choice, dignity and inclusion are of the utmost importance within the service. Everyone is encouraged to make the most of local facilities and are given the opportunity to take part in activities of their choice and visit places of interest. Activities poeple currently enjoy include horse riding, cycling, walks and swimming. We also offer therapeutic activities such as reflexology and sensory/communication groups.
The high staffing ratio at Aykroyd Lodge enables people to be supported in every aspect of their life. People at Aykroyd Lodge tend to have more profound learning disabilities and require substantial support with mobility, communication and daily living.
We understand the importance of relationships with friends and family. We have an open door policy where relatives and advocates may call at any reasonable time.
Aykroyd Lodge has six bedrooms with en-suite facilities which are adapted to meet the requirements of each individual. There are spacious communal areas and the rooms are all furnished to a high standard, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The service has a large well-maintained garden where people can relax or take part in games and activities.
