Bungalow Lydd is a specialist, male-only service, which supports 5 individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. At Bungalow Lydd we provide 24 hour support, from our caring and experienced staff team. Wherever possible, we encourage and support people to live as independently as they can and as a team we are focused on building positive outcomes for everyone.

Overview of the Service

Bungalow Lydd is a specialist, male-only service, which supports 5 individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. At Bungalow Lydd we provide 24 hour support, from our caring and experienced staff team.

All individuals are involved in designing their own Person Centred Plan, with staff support. The plans are tailored to suit individual needs and provide the correct level of support required. They also enable all individuals to make their own choices about the support they receive. We encourage and support everyone at Bungalow Lydd to recognise and identify their goals and ambitions and how they would like to go about meeting them.

Bungalow Lydd promotes Craegmoor's communication strategy, "Your Voice", which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the care and support they receive. Monthly meetings are held where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of others living at the service. This is extended to a voice at area, divisional and national level.

Surroundings

The Historic town of Lydd is a five minute walk away and there is a regular bus service to Ashford, Folkestone and Hastings. We are close to the coast and surrounded by open fields.

Service Facilities

Bungalow Lydd is registered to support 5 individuals and comprises a large, detached, colt bungalow. The bungalow is set in half an acre of mature gardens that backs on to a stream and has beautiful flower beds and a vegetable plot. The front of the bungalow boasts an uninterrupted view over Romney Marsh, towards Rye.

Individuals are supported and encouraged to personalise their bedrooms.
