579 Maidstone Road is home for six ladies who have learning disabilities and mental health support needs. The service is newly opened, having been refurbished to a high standard throughout.

Each individual living at 579 Maidstone Road will receive a person centred service delivering tailored support to help them identify, work towards and ultimately achieve their own personal goals.

Some of the activities we currently enjoy together are theatre trips, visiting local sites of historical interest, accessing college courses to develop our skills, swimming, horse riding and socialising with friends.

One of the individuals we support has previously competed in sport representing Great Britain and is keen to work towards this again – we are looking at ways in which we can support her with this.

Individuals are supported to follow their own faith and cultural beliefs in a way that is meaningful for them. For instance one lady has always played an active role in her local church, and continues to enjoy this by taking part in a Sunday Service where she is able to sit with friends whilst support staff remain discreet in the background.

Our diverse all female staff team are experienced in supporting individuals with a variety of abilities. Each of the individuals we support has their own preferred routines and support needs and our team is trained to meet these on an individual basis. We have strengthened our knowledge with specific training for each individual to ensure we continue to deliver a service which meets the needs of those we support.

579 Maidstone Road offers spacious communal living, and a large kitchen diner as the heart of the house where people can take part in meal preparation or just sit and watch. The mature front and rear gardens offer space for outdoor gatherings and celebrations or just to be alone and quiet for a while. 

The house is located in a quiet residential area of Medway, with excellent public transport links to local town centres and Hempsted Valley Shopping Centre and fast trains into London in less than 45 minutes. We also have our own vehicle which enables us to access local community events, visit our family and friends and go to the seaside for an ice cream in the summer!
