Overview of Service
The Cherries specialises in supporting young people with Autism from the ages of 16 - 25. We support up to 6 individuals at any one time and specialise in communication needs and independent life skills. The Cherries is staffed 24 hours a day and the staffing ratio is appropriate to the needs of each individual.
All individuals are involved in designing their own Person Centred Plan, with staff support. The plans are tailored to suit individual needs and provide the correct level of support required. They also enable all individuals to make their own choices about the support they receive. We encourage and support everyone at The Cherries to recognise and identify their goals and ambitions and decide how they would like to go about achieving them.
The Cherries promotes Craegmoor's communication strategy "Your Voice", which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the support they receive. Monthly meetings are held where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of others living at the service.
