Overview of service
The Dunes is a specialised service for people with learning disabilities. The Dunes is situated in Poole and is specially designed for residents with complex needs. The service has three places and is within easy walking distance of Ashley Road and Tower Park.
What it's like to live here
Service users who currently live at The Dunes like to help with meal planning, cooking, cleaning, activity planning, socialising and gardening on a regular basis. Some of the people we support go on work placements and particularly enjoy this independence.
Surroundings
At The Dunes there are three bedrooms, two of which have en-suite wet room facilities and the third bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. The service also has a living/dining room, kitchen and a separate office. There is a good sized garden at the rear of the home, with a patio area which is used for BBQ's and dining 'Al Fresco', weather permitting. At the front of The Dunes there is sufficient space for off-road parking.
Service facilities
We encourage the people we support at The Dunes to personalise their rooms to their own taste as well as to take an active role in the running of the home and to put forward their own ideas at the service user meetings – Your Voice.
