Woodham Grange is a purpose built service providing support for eight adults with profound and multiple learning and physical disabilities. The home is located in Newton Aycliffe in County Durham, with access to local amenities.
The home is set back from the road in its own grounds with a large garden for people to enjoy in the summer. There is a conservatory overlooking the garden which transforms into a sensory room in the evening, with music and light displays.
The home is fully equipped to support individuals with physical disabilities. There are tracking hoists in both bathrooms, high-low baths, mobile hoisting equipment and a lift enabling access to the first floor.
All staff are fully trained, and specialise in supporting adults with multiple and profound learning and physical disabilities, as well as communication difficulties, autism, and epilepsy.
The four ladies and three gentlemen who currently live at Woodham Grange enjoy many activities both inside and outside of the home. There is a hydrotherapy pool less than a mile away which everyone can visit weekly. Individuals also regularly enjoy going to football matches, the cinema and the theatre, as well as eating out.
The focus at Woodham Grange is completely person centred - all support is tailored to suit the needs of the individual. Bedrooms are decorated to a high standard with high quality furniture and fittings according to the individual’s tastes and preferences. The staff strive to ensure that residents receive the highest level of care and support, to live rich and fulfilling lives.
