At West Villas we support six people with learning disabilities. We can support individuals with mental health needs, epilepsy, sensory impairments, physical disabilities, autism and other complex needs.

The service is in a quiet residential area on the outskirts of Hartlepool, near to the coast and countryside. We are only a few minutes drive from the town centre where there are lots of facilities. We make use of local shops, clubs and pubs and attend local events. Several people have chosen to attend courses at college, including life skills, art classes and guitar lessons. There are also opportunities to take part in voluntary work.

The staff work as a team to ensure everyone’s needs are met, while creating a friendly atmosphere. We believe everyone should be given the opportunity to lead a full life and are always looking for new activities and experiences which the people we support can enjoy. Some individuals aspire to move to supported living and they are fully supported in working towards this goal.

Each person is involved in the running of their home. People can choose to take part in staff selection, assist with health and safety checks and attend staff meetings. Each person has their own job to do in the service. We hold regular house meetings where joint decisions about things including the décor of the service and menus can be discussed.

West Villas is comprised of two separate bungalows. There are three bedrooms in each bungalow all with en-suite facilities. Each bungalow has a communal lounge which includes a kitchen and dining area and an additional bathroom with specialist equipment. There are enclosed established gardens and paved/patio areas to the rear of the building.
