Kilmory supports five young adults with a learning disability and complex needs including Autism, various health needs and associated mobility needs.
The people living at Kilmory are all young men who benefits from a structured routine and active days taking part in activities of their choice which include swimming, horse riding, college and trips out. The home has a vehicle available for travelling to activities or attending health appointments.
Individuals living at Kilmory are supported to develop their skills in the service and in their local community with opportunities for education and employment available for those who are interested.
Our Staff
The staff at Kilmory are very caring and are skilled in supporting individuals to develop their independence and empowering people to take control of their day to day life. Positive relationships with friends and family are also actively promoted.
The staff team are trained in supporting individuals with epilepsy including the use of rescue medication. Assistive technology is also used where possible to promote independence without compromising the monitoring of an individual.
The staff team are also skilled in supporting people with unique tailored menus and special diets around food intolerances and allergies.
The home manager has over seven years’ experience managing care services including supporting individuals with mental health problems and substance abuse. The home manager has also completed a Bsc degree in psychology and criminology, A level certificate in psychology and courses in conflict resolution.
Our Location
Kilmory is in a village location with good amenities and transport networks. The local shop is a short 5-10 minute walk away from the home and local pubs are only a short drive away.
The A3 motorway on the doorstep of the home offers easy access to larger cities such as Guildford and Portsmouth.
One of our nursing services is nearby and offers access to qualified nursing support on a daily basis. The Grove, our day opportunities centre in Hindhead, is only four miles away and the people living at Kilmory are able to access the facilities on offer. A variety of sessions including physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, music, arts, life skills and gym sessions are available at the Grove.
Our Environment
Kilmory is a spacious detached property with five bedrooms. The layout offers a large open plan lounge and dining area which leads on to a large conservatory which is used as an activity and sensory room and can be closed off from the main lounge. The large kitchen is also accessible from the dining area or hallway. The service has wheelchair access throughout and a lift to the first floor.
One bedroom is located on the ground floor with an en-suite bathroom, the other bedrooms are on the first floor and share two bathrooms. One of the bathrooms has a bath with overhead shower and the other offers a shower cubical as well as shower trolley.
Kilmory also offers great outdoor space with a wrap around garden to the back and side of the building with a lawn and patio areas.
