At Lansdowne Road, we support people aged 18 - 65 years, who have been diagnosed with a learning disability. We aim to provide a safe and homely environment, where all individuals can make their own choices about the support they receive. We do everything we can to improve the health and wellbeing of the individuals we support and as a team we are focused on building positive outcomes for everyone.
Overview of Service
We offer 24 hour support for people who have been diagnosed with a learning disability. Lansdowne Road is split into 4 areas, each offering different levels of support tailored to the varying needs of each individual. The people who are supported in Group A live in a separate house and the people who are supported in Group B and C live in the same building, both of which have separate entrances. Everyone living at Lansdowne Road can share facilities. The people who are supported in Group 71 live in a house that is next to Group A.
Each individual has a Person Centred Plan that is tailored to suit their needs and provides the correct level of support required. The plan enables all individuals to make their own choices about the support they receive.
Lansdowne Road promotes Craegmoor's communication strategy "Your Voice", which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the support they receive. Monthly meetings are held where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of others living at the service.
What it's Like to Live Here
At Lansdowne Road there are a range of activities to get involved in, both in and out of the service. A typical day for people living here might include going to work, attending college classes, and/or going to day services. 1:1 and group activities are available.
All individuals are encouraged and supported to assist with cooking, baking and daily chores.
Surroundings
Lansdowne Road is a short distance from Leicester city centre, which has all shopping and leisure facilities. A library, local shops, parks and a leisure centre are all within walking distance from the service. Access to cinemas, bingo halls, restaurants, 2 large shopping centres, museums and places of historical interest are all a short bus ride away.
Service Facilities
Lansdowne Road aims to provide a comfortable, homely environment for everyone being supported across the 4 groups. Each area has a spacious main lounge and everyone helps to decide how they would like them to be decorated.
