Ogilvie Court offers a warm and homely environment for up to 28 adults who have a learning disability and challenging behaviour, which includes the need of 24 hour support. The care, treatment, developmental activities and educational support is delivered by a dedicated, professional and multi-disciplinary team of staff committed to providing a quality service, focused on the needs of the residents.

What's it like to live here

We have an on site activities and resource centre staffed with an additional dedicated team.. These staff organise a wide range of daily activities both in and out of Ogilvie Court which are planned in conjunction with the everyone's wishes. The activity plans are personally tailored to match the needs of each individual. Those who currently use our service enjoy activities such as swimming, horse riding, bowling, trips to the cinema, outings to pubs and restaurants, shopping.

College courses are available and include music, art, communication, speech, cooking, relaxation, arts and crafts, dancing, IT and gardening. Our own transport is used for visits to local places of interest. Due to the extensive grounds in which the home is set which includes orchards and four acres of land, there is also ample opportunity for people to participate in the gardening club. We also arrange holidays in the UK and abroad. Individuals are encouraged to pursue and retain their own interests. One -to-one support is provided where required and all activities are arranged to meet individual needs.

Surroundings

Ogilvie Court is situated near the village of Earl Colne which has easy access to local shops and amenities. It is within easy access to the A12, M11 and M25. Marks Tey Train station which is approximately twenty minutes away has links into Central London Via Liverpool Street Station.

Service facilities

Ogilvie Court provides support for 28 adults which is based over four houses.

Each house has been adapted to provide facilities for individuals which includes specialist equipment for people with physical disabilities. All rooms are single occupancy and decorated to each person's choice. The service has three vehicles which are solely used to enable people to access local amenities and leisure and educational pursuits further a field. It has extensive grounds, with each house having their own garden with a patio and barbeque facilities together with a communal garden and a larger barbeque area for larger celebrations.
