Dove House provides specialist support for four people with autistic spectrum disorders who may exhibit behaviours that challenge. It is situated in Doveridge, a large village lying three miles to the east of Uttoxeter and within 30 minutes drive of Derby.
Dove House is within easy reach of the shopping area in the village and can be accessed by public transport. The village is a popular residential area, surrounded by unspoilt countryside, yet close to shopping, leisure and educational facilities in nearby towns.
Day services are tailored to reflect each person's interests and preferences. We aim to enable each individual to maintain the skills they have, whilst offering them the opportunity to sample new activities and extend their range of interests.
We recognise the importance of maintaining links with family and friends, and they are welcome to visit at any reasonable time. Staff will support people to maintain existing relationships and develop new ones.
The service has four bedrooms and there is also a spacious lounge and a dining room, each with french windows opening onto the large rear garden, and a fully-equipped sensory room. The domestic scale kitchen has been carefully designed to enable people to prepare meals and snacks, with support from staff.
