Accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care, Dementia, Mental health conditions, Physical disabilities, Sensory impairments, Caring for adults over 65 yrs
Apple Trees will provide specialist care for 48 people living with dementia. It also has a wing dedicated to intermediate care - for example for people who need extra care and support for a short stay, perhaps as a "bridge" between hospital and returning to their own home,
All the bedrooms offer en suite "wet room" shower and toilet facilities. Each has a 24 hour call system and cutting edge technology to help promote a safer environment for those who live at Apple Trees. Bedrooms are arranged around cosy and comfortable home style living areas, each with a kitchen, lounge and dining area.
The Care Centre has been sensitively designed to include particular features to assist its residents to maintain as much independence as possible. Reminiscence is known to be an excellent natural therapy for those living with dementia. Walking around Apple Trees you will find old sewing machines, bus stops, hats and jewellery to try on and even a potting shed.
The comfortable and cosy lounge and dining areas, as well as the bistro and the library, provide different areas for relaxation, socialising or just watching the world go by. Outside, there is a beautiful sensory garden, with raised planters, vegetable patches and water features, as well as a specially designed secure terrace area.
