Stories that have caught my eye over the last few days - In about a Minute and a Half.
The transcript and all links are below the video.
From the Independent – Upto 40,000 people wrongly identified as eligible for ‘bedroom tax’ – and may have already been forced to move.
Thatcher had the Poll Tax and not wanting to be outdone Cameron has this – moving on…
A story from the Guardian – Tackling loneliness is a job for professionals, not just the neighbours.
Norman Lamb recently called for communities to reach out to their lonely, although a positive idea this article points out that communities aren’t like they were 30 years ago.
This is the week that all the sugar stories hit the media, Even Jeremy Vine on radio 2 was tweeting about it and doubtless covered it on his radio show.
From the Guardian – Sugar health risk cannot be compared to smoking says Andrew Lansley
Well I say he is wrong - as I’m sure many other will too! –
One contributor at the bottom of the story points out that Mr Lansley (former health minister) was a non exec director of a marketing agency – their clients included Pizza Hut, Mars and Pepsi. #JustSaying
For a more informed opinion of sugar and it’s impact upon the world’s health read this short article from The Conversation.
Titled - The amount of hidden sugars in your diet might shock you.
Read the article to see just how shocking it is.
If you’re not already shocked enough then watch this video from Dr Robert Lustig who is a world leading authority on the subject.
