Daisy Vale supports 16 people with learning disabilities. Everyone that lives at Daisy Vale House has a Person Centred Plan which they are encouraged and supported to help design. We do everything we can to improve the health and wellbeing of the individuals we support and as a team we are focused on building positive outcomes for everyone.
What It's Like to Live Here
There are a wide range of activities to get involved with at Daisy Vale, both in and out of the service. With staff support, everyone living here chooses and plans which activities they would like to do. Activities include horse riding, swimming, bowling, going shopping, going out for meals, attending discos and music nights.
Everyone helps with the day-to-day running of the house, which includes cleaning, cooking and choosing menus. Everyone we support is encouraged through their Person Centred Plans to achieve their goals and aspirations. For some people this means attending college to access various courses, including cooking, art and daily living skills. For others it means work placements and other day opportunities in line with their goals.
Surroundings
Daisy Vale House is located in Thorpe; a small village on the outskirts of Wakefield. There is a good bus service to Wakefield, Leeds and Morley, which are convenient for shopping, meals out, going to the cinema or theatre and swimming. The M1 and M62 motorways are 2 miles away.
Service Facilities
Daisy Vale was formerly a Methodist Chapel. It has a warm and homely environment and a friendly atmosphere. All rooms throughout the house are tastefully decorated and bedrooms are personalised to each individual's preference.
There is a garden to the front and the back of the house, with a patio area for garden furniture. BBQs are enjoyed by many, in the summer months.
