What We Offer
Excellent 24-hour nursing care for long-stay and short-stay residents.
Convenient location less than 30 minutes from Guildford, Farnham, Midhurst and Portsmouth.
A holistic approach to care through meaningful activities, home-cooked food, a well-stocked drinks trolley, happy staff and a safe and comfortable environment.
Nursing Care.
At Huntington House we are proud to provide a 3-star Excellent level of care (as rated by the Care Quality Commission). The standard has been set by Marilyn Hoare's vast experience of elderly care and traditional values of courtesy, and is maintained through continual training of our care team in modern methods of nursing.
A combination of qualified carers up to NVQ Level 3, personal care plans individually tailored to every resident, and our own Keyworker System that ensures an appropriate member of the care team is allocated to each resident, results in the absolute continuity of the highest level of care for long stay, palliative and respite residents.
In addition, we firmly believe that the overall stimulation of the mind, body and soul through daily activities, good food, a well-stocked drinks trolley, happy staff and a safe and comfortable environment are as important to a resident's wellbeing as nursing care and medication.
In our experience this holistic approach to care is essential in creating a thriving home.
Dementia Care.
Langham Court is a state-of-the-art, specialist dementia care home set within the grounds of Huntington House. The building itself has been cleverly constructed into the hillside to provide ground floor living on two stories. The unique design enables residents on both the upper and lower ground floor to easily access the walled garden and courtyard areas respectively, without having to climb any stairs.
The interior has been equally well designed. Although modern in appearance, many of the features, from the wall to ceiling windows to the wide corridors, have been inspired by the traditional Victorian characteristics of Huntington House, which lend themselves perfectly to elderly care.
Luxury decor featuring textured wallpaper, sparkly chandeliers and comfy chairs, more akin to domestic interior design than that of a care home, gives a homely feel while providing subtle sensory stimulation for our residents.
But it is the care that makes Langham Court truly special. The Hoare family, who run Huntington House and Langham Court, have invested in a staff training programme with a company called Dementia Care Matters. The Butterfly Project, as it is called, is led by David Sheard, a leading dementia care consultant, who's passionate approach inspired the company's ethos 'Feelings Matter Most'.
Our team of nurses and carers, and even housekeepers and maintenance staff, are here to improve the life of our residents - that is their primary role. It can be called activity-based care, but it is essentially sharing time with our residents to enable them live a fulfilled life as independently as possible.
