Autistic spectrum disorders, Behavioural support, Learning disability, Prader-Willi Syndrome

At Chestnut Grange we provide high quality care and support to ten people with a learning disability, and accompanying complex needs. We can support individuals with autism and Prader Willi syndrome. The service is a spacious town house in a pretty rural village.

Everyone is encouraged and supported to make the most of community resources and take part in a range of creative and diverse activities, using public transport where appropriate, to build independence. The nearby town of Newark has excellent educational facilities. There is the option of taking part in activities and classes at a nearby farm run by Voyage, where individuals can also meet people from other local services.

We have a stable , enthusiastic staff team who ensure everyone is supported appropriately to reach their goals. We hold regular house meetings, menu meetings and activity meetings to give everyone the opportunity to be involved in decisions in the service. People can take part in the interview process for new staff, if they wish. One individual manages the recycling in the service; another helps to look after the garden.

The spacious shared areas in Chestnut Grange provide the opportunity for people to socialise, spend time alone or take part in the varied programme of activities provided by the service.

Chestnut Grange has well maintained gardens to three sides of the building; these feature established plants, a herb area, a built in barbecue and several separate seating and eating areas. people can choose to help maintain the gardens to help improve their daily living skills.
