Loose Valley is a registered Care Home which accommodates 34 elderly residents. The Home, formerly the local vicarage, is an absolutely beautiful building and overlooks the picturesque and tranquil valley of Loose. Loose is only 2 miles south of Maidstone, and affords beautiful panoramic views.
Loose Valley Care Centre is a Nursing and Residential Care Home catering for individuals with diverse needs related to the elderly. Our residents come from all walks of life; many mothers who have brought up families and extended families, a 'Brown Owl', a hospital Secretary, a research technician at the Royal Marsden Hospital when the National Health Service began, and a woman pilot who flew light aircraft in the1930's. All of these people reside in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where they are encouraged to retain their individuality and their dignity. The majority of our residents have chosen to make this their permanent home; however some do come for a short stay, to convalesce or to give their carers some respite. Our staff feel privileged to care for these people.
Loose Valley offers 34 single rooms, all with a nurse-call system, a telephone point and a TV point. Residents are encouraged to bring small items of furniture and ornaments to personalise their rooms. The rooms on the first floor can be accessed by a passenger and wheelchair lift.
The Home is surrounded by 3 acres of grounds encompassing two patio areas and with wheelchair access around the perimeter.
Residents are able to retain their own General Practitioner. Regular visits are made by the physiotherapist, the chiropodist, and the optician. To enable residents to maximise their quality of life aromatherapy, diversional therapy, religious services, hairdressing entertainment, and outings are provided. A twice weekly exercise class run by a fitness trainer is very popular.
The Manager of the Home, Marisa Spice, has an extensive Nursing background, including many years of Care for the Elderly.
The Care of our residents is carried out by a team of Trained Nurses and Care Staff headed by the deputy manager who has a wide training in Care of the Elderly. All staff, on joining our Home, complete a comprehensive induction programme, and ongoing development and training needs are met. The Care team consists of a number of long-term experienced staff who welcome new members from time to time.
Our professional catering staff deliver a high standard of nutritious home cooked meals and a varied choice of menu is offered. All meals are freshly prepared and the daily dessert trolley is very popular.
We fully encourage our residents to maintain contact with their families and friends as well as making new friends within the Home.
