At The Warberries Nursing Home, Torquay, Devon, we recognise and respect that each resident has individual needs to be considered. We work to assess these needs, always responding with full care & support whatever their origin, religious beliefs, personal attitudes, the nature of their health or any other factor. We are situated in 1.25 acres with amazing panoramic coastal views combined with beautiful grounds and flower gardens. Weekly outings & entertainments are provided all year round. This grade II listed building is a perfect example of Victorian elegance. Lilly Langtree & King Edward VII spent two summers here and no doubt enjoyed the peaceful settings and the panoramic scenery. Set in beautiful gardens, a patio area is perfect for those summer months, with a large car parking area. The home is staffed and equipped to cater for patients with a wide range of needs, offering nursing and residential care to the over 65 age group. We provide both short-term respite care, long-stay residency and nursing care. Our accommodation features five double rooms, and forty single rooms.( thirty-seven of which have full en-suite facilities). Most rooms are south facing, overlooking the gardens and providing views of the bay. All rooms have a remote controlled television set and call bell system. For their comfort and well-being, clients may bring their own furniture and even their pets. Clients have access to the large dining room, a conservatory area for socialising, two quiet rooms and a gallery area with its own pool table. We work hard to steer away from the traditional 'nursing home' environment and create a home that is both comfortable yet fresh, clean, light and airy. We work in an open and co-operative manner with all our residents and families fostering independence whilst recognising their right to be involved in the planning and delivery of their care. We work on empowering the residents to make choices for themselves within a broad framework of support provided by Warberries Nursing Home.
Choosing a care home is a major life decision and can involve large financial commitment. It is important that older people are in a position to make a good choice first time. Our motto is "To care for each individual as if they are your own mother or father". Physical help includes changing dressings, washing and feeding. administering medications and observing bodily functions.
