Redannick is sited close to Truro’s City Centre with many rooms having beautiful views of the cathedral. The local doctors, library, churches and shops are close by. Doctors, nurses, chiropodist, dentist and optician also attend the home on a regular basis. Built in 1974 the care provision has evolved and today we provide specialist support for people with dementia. Redannick has four living spaces, all on one level, each with its own dining area and lounge; all bedrooms are single rooms. Everyone living here is encouraged to bring in personal belongings to help them feel at home. In addition to the lounges there is a large central lounge and sun room. We are a free flowing home and clients are encouraged to dine and sit wherever they choose. Mealtimes are flexible and relaxed and provide an opportunity to meet with friends and enjoy a well cooked varied menu. All meals are freshly prepared using locally sourced ingredients. Our chef has contributed to the company’s project “Appetite for Life” which acknowledges the importance of a well balanced and varied diet. We can meet any dietary need and our chef''s home made soups and cakes are well worth trying. Redannick has a separate Day Club, and can also offer short stays to provide breaks for carers. Both afford a relaxed, friendly and professional introduction to our home.

Over 80% of our staff are trained to NVQ Level 2 and all attend stages 1 and 2 of dementia training. Cornwall Care training is updated on a regular basis ensuring staff have the skills and knowledge necessary to support high standards of quality care. Each person is assessed on an individual basis to ensure the care provided is tailored to their specific needs. The cost of care is reviewed on a regular basis. Residents at Redannick are actively encouraged to pursue a range of recreational activities from craft and cookery to keep fit and drama therapy. We have a people carrier and residents enjoy trips out to areas of interest, the coastal outings seem to be everyone’s favourite. Rod and his three PAT dogs visit on a Friday not always with the approval of Thomas our resident cat. We have a small shop where residents can buy toiletries and sweets. Our hairdresser is available two days a week. Redannick League of Friends volunteer and commit their time to arranging entertainment and organise fund raising events. Some people find comfort in spiritual support and two of the local churches visit to provide services and communion.
