Owned and directed by partners Roger and Tania Pell, Forget Me Not Residential Home is a prominent care home in Burnham, Berkshire. Tania and her husband Roger founded Forget Me Not Residential Home in 1995 after their attempts at finding a suitable care home for Roger’s father proved futile. They discovered that Burnham and its surrounding areas was missing a HIGH QUALITY, RESIDENT-FRIENDLY and INVITING care home. Assuming that many other families and elderly people had the same concerns, Tania and Roger sought to establish a reputable care home in the community. CQC COMPLIANT (Inspected Feb 2012) The home is a registered care provider and is proud to be operating in line with the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) rules and regulations. Its most recent inspection by the CQC not only highlighted Tania’s immaculate detail to documentation, but also honed in on the significant role Forget Me Not Residential Home’s staff undertake and the professionalism with which they do so. TESTIMONIALS FROM CURRENT RESIDENTS (May 2012) “I am very happy here and it’s the best place” Mrs FG “The cook always asks me about my preference for lunch every morning” Ms DS “I am very happy here” Mrs MB “They treat me just like I am in a hotel” Mr TM In a period where the media portrays care homes and its providers as cruel and unfavourable, Forget Me Not Residential Home’s award is a certain testament of its deviation from this illustration. Rather than conform to what prime time TV programmes suggest about the POOR QUALITY OF CARE HOMES and their staff, Forget Me Not Residential Home offers an alternative. It UNDERSTANDS how moving to a care home is a monumental decision for residents and their families and thus it promises to offer a home away from home. Staff are trained to enhance the quality of each residents’ life and are all united in their ambition to deliver an admirable and consistent level of care at all times. Forget Me Not Residential Home prides itself on its HOMELY ATMOSPHERE and vibrancy. From the moment you step through its doors you are greeted with pleasant and welcoming people and an environment that offers peace and comfort. It is perfectly located in the midst of a tranquil part of Burnham and with a charismatic building that comprises warm and cosy décor, residents will always feel at ease.
Since its opening, Forget Me Not Residential Home has welcomed a great deal of residents through its doors. It’s COMMITMENT to delivering all-round EXCELLENCE and its ability to respond to the INDIVIDUAL NEEDS of each of its residents has given Forget Me Not Residential Home a GLOWING REPUTATION. It is precisely this status, and its high quality care that has enabled Forget Me Not Residential Home to be awarded with The Bucks, Berks and Oxon Advertiser’s ‘Excellence In Quality Care Award 2012/2013’. Having been assessed against the borough’s neighbouring care home’s, Forget Me Not Residential Home has proved that its unrivalled services, first class facilities and complete dedication to its residents’ lifestyle needs and demands is worthy of such a prestigious award. INTERACTION Most significant to Forget Me Not Residential Home is the HAPPINESS of its residents. Each staff member goes the extra mile to ensure that residents are entertained and have something to do- whether that be reading a book or socialising with friends or care staff. There is also an annual fireworks display for residents to enjoy, as well as garden parties as the weather gets warmer. To give residents a chance to interact with unfamiliar people and venture out of their comfort zones, Forget Me Not Residential Home regularly invites the Brownies and children from local Schools such as Our Lady of Peace, Priory School and children from a Montessori nursery to visit the home to partake in activities. Invitations for the local older people are invited to join in sing a longs and activities. Most recently older people for Age Concern day centre joined in a sing a long at the home. BEAUTIFUL GARDENS TO SIT, CHAT AND RELAX In addition, children from Altwood School work alongside the home’s residents to complete their health and social care project. The project is a great way for children to gain further knowledge, and is also a task that is greatly embraced by residents who are keen to keep their minds active. With Burnham High Street nearby, main bus and train links a short walk away and a library in the area, residents can indulge in an array of additional activities to pass their time and explore new hobbies and interests. Alternatively, with Forget Me Not Residential Home boasting a large, beautiful and cared for garden, residents can simply take the time to gather fresh air and go for short walks. STAFFING Demonstrating its ability to provide its residents with a wholesome experience, Forget Me Not Residential Home only employs the most QUALIFIED AND COMPETENT of staff. They are all trained in-house so as to ensure that they consistently deliver the same level of excellent service and they do all of this whilst wearing GENUINE SMILES! For those interested in embarking on a career as a care professional, Forget Me Not Residential Home also takes on diligent students for work placements. QUALITY CARE AWARD Thriving under an ethos of excellence and delivering first-class care in the community, Forget Me Not Residential Home is the proud winner of the ‘Excellence In Quality Care Award 2012/2013’.
